1.0 FTE Literacy Intervention and Acceleration Teacher at Aptos Middle School - We are looking for a teacher who can:


  • provide effective instruction in reading and writing to targeted groups of students with the objective of dramatically accelerating their academic achievement.


  • develop and deliver instruction using culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy and assessments that incorporate effective student engagement strategies.


  • ensure that instruction is equally effective for students across all ethnicities, language backgrounds, and genders.


  • respect learners’ diverse strengths and needs and be committed to using this information to plan effective instruction.


  • monitor and analyze student data in relation to criteria for scheduling and exiting intervention.


  • (Desire but not required) Provide effective instruction in math to targeted groups of students with the objective of dramatically accelerating their academic achievement. Not a requirement but it would be great if the teacher was qualified to accelerate academic achievement in both literacy and math. This would require a 2nd credential in math as well as one in ELA.

Minimum Qualifications

SFUSD requires all teachers to hold or be pursuing a valid California teaching credential and an English Learner or Bilingual Authorization. We welcome applications from teachers who have not yet received their credentials, and our Credentials Team is happy to work with each teacher who's accepted a position in SFUSD to apply for permits that allow them to teach while pursuing a credential.
