What we expect from you on the job:
· Facilitate seamless comprehensive care for all OB/GYN patients
· Screen, triage and respond to patient inquiries via telephone calls and EMR messages
· Schedule appointments with specialists - Maternal Medicine, Endocrinologist etc
· Assist front desk staff in making patient appointments, telephone calls etc
· Assist physicians and advanced practice providers in procedures and exams
· Administer injections, vaccines etc
· Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens
· Perform Non-Stress tests and document in EMR
· Provide relevant patient education, both written and verbal
· Prepare patients for examination and procedures by taking vitals and history and entering into EMR
· Escort patients to the exam/procedure room
· Prepare, restock and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures
· Sterilize medical instruments per established protocol
· Check insurance and demographics of the patients, manage payments and keep records
· Call patients with lab and ultrasound results and make appropriate follow up with guidance from the physicians and advanced practice providers
· Make postpartum and post surgical follow up phone calls
· Take pertinent patient history and vital signs, record in EMR
· Other administrative and clinical responsibilities as directed by the practice manager
Qualifications:
· Active MA nursing license or LPN certification
· 1-3 years of nursing experience working in obstetrics, labor and delivery and postpartum care
· Excellent multitasking, communication and organization skills
· Detail oriented
· Excellent team player
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in basic computer functions
