The Office of Library and Information Resources seeks a Library Systems Coordinator to report to the Library Systems Administrator. The new role will support the The Community Solution Education System library’s day-to-day Library Systems operations and shared virtual reference services.
The ideal person has a passion for customer support and problem-solving with proven ability to learn in and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Manages, resolves, and escalates inquiries concerning access to electronic resources and other library tools and services
Participates in system-wide chat and other virtual reference services
Provides assistance processing interlibrary loan (ILL) requests
Assists with the library’s Course Reading and Resources lists processing.
Helps maintain eResources website and related LibGuides
Supports the collection of usage statistics
Aids with invoice processing as it relates to electronic resources expenses
Works on special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Proven experience in providing support in an academic library setting in person, by email, chat, or other formats
Comprehensive knowledge of online databases and search strategies
Experience in working with integrated Library Systems (ILS) and related services (Interlibrary loan, Electronic Reserves, etc.)
Working knowledge of ExLibris Alma, Primo, Rapido, and Leganto
Experience with working with integrated Library Systems ((LS) and related services such as Discovery and Interlibrary Loan systems
Strong analytical, technical, troubleshooting, and communication skills to support an array of library applications and workflows.
Basic understanding of library metadata standards and structures.
Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of MS Excel and Access
Ability to work independently; recognize and resolve problems, including unusual situations that require extensive investigation and analysis.
Commitment to professional growth, including the willingness to obtain relevant Library Systems certifications.
Education and Certifications
Master of Library and Information Systems (MLIS) degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
