Library Safety Officer

LIBRARY SAFETY OFFICER – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time (40 hrs. per week) Library Safety Officer to work Tuesday-Saturday, 9:15am-6:15pm, at the Main Library campus. The candidate should be outgoing, friendly, team-oriented, and enjoy working with all ages and have a customer service-oriented approach to public safety while working in a diverse and inclusive environment. Experience working with marginalized communities a plus. Essential duties include working closely with library staff to solve challenges throughout the day and help diffuse various situations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner. Additional responsibilities include assisting patrons with information and assisting staff with public safety concerns. Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time, work indoors and outdoors. Some computer experience is required and must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Spanish language skills a plus, but not required. Pay starts at $16.11 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension, life insurance, paid time off and holiday pay. Position open until filled.
