Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our legal team and assist with various tasks related to legal proceedings and documentation. There may be travel needed among our three offices, which would be compensated.
Duties:
- Gather relevant information for cases
- Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, such as contracts and pleadings
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Prepare correspondence, memos, and other legal documents
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information
- Transcribe dictations and prepare accurate written transcripts
- Perform data entry tasks to update case information in the database
- File documents with the court system as required
