Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Alward Fisher, one of Northern Michigan's largest law firms located in downtown Traverse City, is looking for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to directly assist clients and attorneys in its family law and litigation department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinating administrative and legal practice tasks and projects for assigned attorney
• Calendaring meetings, conference calls, new client intake, opening new client matters, billing activities, and client interaction
• Preparation of documents including: court and client correspondence, as well as pleadings and discovery documents.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently
• Ability to take initiative to streamline processes and implement process improvements
• Eagerness to learn and dive into fast-paced projects
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Sensitivity to confidential matters

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
