Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Learning & Development Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that support the professional development of our employees. The Learning & Development Specialist will report to the Manager of Talent Excellence. This individual will collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to perform needs analysis, design, develop and deliver training materials, ensuring that instructional quality is built into final project deliverables. As an influencer in the organization, the Learning and Development Specialist will serve as a change agent and engagement supporter for the greater employee population.
Essential Functions:
1. Work a hybrid schedule – 15-20% in office.
2. Conduct needs assessments to determine the most effective training methods and materials.
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and priorities.
4. Work with HR business partners to define learning solution objectives to ensure the impact can be measured and is linked to business goals.
5. Work directly with technical subject matter experts to capture course-specific knowledge.
6. Ensure that learning solutions incorporate best practices in adult learning theory.
7. Design and develop training programs, including classroom-based, online, and on-the-job training.
8. Develop training materials and resources, including instructor-led and self-paced courses, manuals, and videos.
9. Apply branding standards to stakeholder’s content (i.e., design templates, standards, style guides, technical specifications, etc.)
10. Deliver training through various methods including classroom facilitation, web-based, electronic, and printed material, eLearning modules, etc.
11. Develop and maintain learning and development metrics to track program effectiveness and measure the impact on employee performance and business results.
12. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.
13. Manage and maintain the LMS, including configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and quality assurance of training materials and courses, provide technical support to employees and managers regarding the use of the LMS.
14. Manage employee appreciation committee activities and participate in and contribute to employee engagement initiatives as needed.
15. Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to learning and development.
16. Partner with external training vendors to leverage best practices and resources.
17. Participate in HR and talent management projects and initiatives as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of experience in design, development, and delivery of instructional material in a corporate setting.
· Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
· Authoring tool experience essential, Articulate Storyline preferred.
· Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
· Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
· Experience designing and delivering a variety of training programs.
· Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
· Elevated level of professionalism, executive presence, and credibility; able to effectively challenge and influence peers and customers.
