The Learning and Development Analyst provides the strategic leadership of competency-based, sustainable workforce development solutions that meet the unique challenges facing manufacturers in today's economic environment, including talent attraction, development, retention, and other workforce development activities. The Learning and Development Analyst will lead projects, advise customers, and provide industry thought leadership initiatives under the guidance of the Director of Learning and Performance Improvement.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
- Perform multiple levels of analysis to define a client's workforce development needs and develop plans to achieve stated workforce goals, displaying a return on investment for recommended interventions
- Work with manufacturing organizations to build new capabilities and increase workforce performance through competency identification and assessment, design and development of learning programs and curricula, and delivery of education materials to their intended audiences
- Oversee the strategic direction of assigned projects to verify execution meets the vision of customer expectations
- Design curricula according to instructional principals, client objectives, and program objectives
- Develop work practices that are structured, streamlined, and communicated to the project teams according to best practices for instructor-led training, web-based training, on-the-job training, virtual classroom, job aids, quick reference materials, and exercises
- Execute work practices surrounding the production of educational materials, the structuring of content rollout to instructors, facilitators, students, and the general project management criteria associated with a training program
- Support the sales team with pre-sale scoping, value-add proposal development, and in-person or virtual presentations
- Use the company CSM system to document critical communications
- Support Tooling U-SME’s position as a thought leader through speaking at designated events
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- BA or BS degree in Education, Instructional Design/Technology, Human Resources Management, or Organizational Development required; MA or MS degree preferred
- At least 10 years of experience with workforce development analysis and strategy, content design and development, content delivery, learning technology, assessment design and development, and performance evaluation within a manufacturing environment
- 5 or more years of experience as an instructional designer, educator, human resource manager, or consultant; experience in implementing workforce development processes in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with human performance improvement assessments, learning needs curriculum development, modern learning modality design, learning management systems, learning content development software technologies, and program effectiveness expertise
- Experience working with an internal sales team in a consulting role
- Experience with implementing workforce development solutions within the manufacturing industry
- Ability to communicate with all levels of a manufacturing organization
- Ability to translate information, develop insights, and work alongside clients at client sites
- Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and data gathering skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with manufacturing customer production environment at times
- Up to 70% travel required
