LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - EAST COAST US


If you have trades experience, great. If not, that's OK. Experience in the MEP or Residential / Consumer Home Services space is definitely helpful.
LOCATION:
This position can work out of any of our branch locations as a Home Base, with travel to locations as needed. NOT A REMOTE POSITION - Will need to have a 'Home Base' Office in one of our locations.

Baltimore Metro, Beltsville MD, Alexandria VA, Greater Philadelphia (Boothwyn & Horsham PA), Mt Laurel NJ, Jamesburg NJ, Teterboro NJ, Lancaster PA, Hagerstown MD, Federalsburg MD, East Hanover NJ, Richmond Hill / Savannah GA, Louisville, KY, West Chester / Cincinnati OH, Tampa, FL, Orlando FL, Sarasota FL... Other locations can be discussed and re-lo may be considered for this leadership position.

Job Summary/Objective:

The Leadership Development Manager is a strategic, platform role responsible for designing, leading, and executing all aspects of leadership and professional development programs and solutions across all brands. A critical aspect of this role is to support our growth (green field) strategy by developing leaders who can start and successfully lead a new branch location beginning on day one of launch. This role will use LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT industry best practices to develop leaders to support improved performance, career pathing, succession planning and competency-based skill-building. The Leadership Development Manager will deliver and facilitate key programs as well.

Supervises: Instructional Designer and LMS Administrator (future)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with VP of Talent Development to create and execute multi-year LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT plan
  • Lead efforts in designing, developing and implementing LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT solutions for all levels of leadership including high potential development
  • Design of leadership programs includes leveraging internal best practices (The LTPHS Way) to be used for training management across all brands and geographic footprint
  • Leverage competency framework to develop leaders in a consistent and transferrable way
  • Design and develops solutions supporting professional development needs related to LTPHS’s culture and business processes such as communication, conflict management,
  • Creates and oversees manuals and SOPs
  • Select and manage vendors to augment internally developed leadership solutions
  • Manage instructional designer(s) to ensure quality of training solutions developed are instructionally sound and achieve learning objectives and business outcomes
  • Leverage Learning Management System (LMS) to automate, deliver and manage leadership programs
  • Maintain and leverage innovative LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT industry knowledge to drive program effectiveness and engagement
  • Leverage a LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT steering committee to ensure alignment of programs with business needs
  • Facilitate and deliver programs using multiple techniques including in-person and virtual
  • Recruit, hire, retain and develop talent to successfully drive a high level of performance, achieving KPI’s linked to business performance
  • Measure and analyze training results and KPIs to drive continuous improvement
  • Create and maintain project plans to successfully project manage large, cross-functional initiatives ensuring they are delivered on time and to specifications
  • Partner with and consult with all business units to align skill and competency development with training programs
  • Partner with HR to ensure alignment of development programs to performance management, succession planning, coaching, mentorship and all other talent management processes
  • Work with VP of Talent Development on budgeting at the platform level

Other Job Functions:

  • Maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulations (understand and abide by compliance requirements for training)
  • Ensure safety best practices are followed in all training programs

Qualifications/Abilities:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing company-wide, multi-level leadership programs
  • Ability to leverage competency models as basis for developing leadership programs
  • Demonstrate strong facilitation skills, both instructor-led (ILT) and Virtual Instructor-Led (VILT)
  • Experience implementing and managing rotational, mentorship and high potential development programs
  • Ability to develop a business plan
  • Excellent project management skills using PM software
  • Ability to build strong rapport with employees and vendors
  • Ability to lead from high level strategy to hands on tactical operations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen
  • Strong analytical skills: review, interpret, draw conclusions and formulate actions based on KPI’s and other data
  • Ability to run reports and use Excel to export data and create spreadsheets

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS degree and or minimum 5 years related LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT experience at manager level or above
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments for various business units and functions and translate those needs into effective LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT programs driving positive business outcomes
  • Experience implementing a learning management system (LMS) a plus
  • Experience in the trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical a plus
  • Experience in project management and budgeting
  • Expertise in MS Office suite of applications including proficient use of Excel
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPLP) is a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel to other locations, to training sessions and/or meetings, car or air travel 50% + .
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
