Southwestern Energy is hiring a Lead Well Data Analyst for our Spring, Texas office.
To be successful in this role you will:
Play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our Well Data. This position will work closely with various disciplines (regulatory, construction, geosciences, engineering, land, etc) in our operating business units to maintain our digital well files in a centralized document management system. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and efficient management of our Well Data in digital well files.
Essential Duties
- Responsible for managing and maintaining MFiles or equivalent cloud-based document management technology
- Organize and name files, oversee data entry, and validation
- Create and maintain metadata, ensure it is accurate, consistent, and aligned with business requirements
- Implement and enforcing data management best practices
- Monitoring and assessing data quality on an ongoing basis, includes identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, errors, and missing data
- Work with data providers to ensure that data is accurate and complete, and for developing and implementing data quality improvement initiatives
- Manage the entire data lifecycle, includes ensuring that data is stored, managed, and protected in accordance with business requirements and industry best practices around data retention and disposal policies. Collaborate with stakeholder to ensure the same.
- Act as a resource to the operating business for help finding, loading, tagging files, as well as support for MFiles functionality (or other document management technology)
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment
Your Background Includes:
- Bachelor's degree information science, petroleum engineering, geoscience, or related field is preferred
- 5 years of experience in data management, data analysis, or a related field
- Experience with MFiles or an equivalent cloud-based document management technology
- Proven ability to create and maintain metadata, manage data lifecycle, and resolve data issues
- Strong understanding of unconventional well lifecycle
- High level understanding of concepts like ontology and business glossary.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulations.
- Passion for data accuracy and completeness
