DESCRIPTION:
This is an exempt, 12-month, part-time position. Responsibilities include providing hearing services to infants, toddlers, and their
families. The scope and frequency of service is driven by the Individualized Family Service Plan. Services occur in home or day
care settings, utilizing the Coaching Model. CFC Teachers are expected to be knowledgeable about child development, particularly
language development. They should also be well-versed in the unique language and learning needs of deaf and hard of hearing
children as well as current trends in hearing technology. CFC teachers are to maintain collaborative relationships with service
providers and professionals from other disciplines. Teachers are also expected to assist with Toddler Group, Family ASL Class,
and Family Learning Weekend. Teachers are responsible for maintaining paper and digital files which include session notes,
progress monitoring reports, and data files for all children on their caseload.

This is a non-PDE position. It is a Department of Public Welfare position. WPSD requires Instructional I or II certificate
In Hearing Impaired. This position is subject to the PA state regulations for early childhood education.
SIGNING REQUIREMENTS:
The Sign Language Proficiency Interview for the position is “Intermediate.” The minimum level accepted at
hire is “Survival Plus.”
