Our restaurant is looking for an experienced Line Cook to serve as the Lead Cook in our kitchen. You will oversee the kitchen staff and make sure that the restaurant runs smoothly through each service in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager. Throughout your shift, you will delegate tasks to staff, from food preparation to wiping down the work surfaces with disinfectant after service. Our ideal applicant has a culinary degree or extensive professional cook experience, superb knife skills, and a food handler's card. Lead Cook Duties and Responsibilities · Oversee food preparation in the restaurant. · Help coordinate back-of-the-house staff schedules. · Stock workstations with supplies and tools. · Delegate cleaning and preparation tasks. · In coordination with the Food & Beverage Manager you will train and evaluate BOH staff members. · Plan daily menu, and specials according to the food available. · Complete food orders through approved vendors. · Will assist Event Coordinator with menu planning, and execution of the menu at the event. · Prepares food to order during busy meal periods, demonstrating an appealing plate presentation to the customer. · Make sure the kitchen is broken down and cleaned each day. Lead Cook Requirements and Qualifications · Degree in culinary arts preferred. · Several years of professional cooking experience. · Experience in lower-level kitchen positions. · Food handler's card. · Is familiar with liquor laws for the State of Arizona and requirements for a Private Club Liquor License. · May work Thursday and Friday Night dinners and/or catered events.
