The Opportunity:
Your role at Sephora:
As a Lead Engineer, you will be you will be collaborating with colleagues and the architecture team to build solutions that focus on performance, usability, scalability, and standards for both desktop and mobile web channels. Reporting to the Manager, Front End Development, you will drive design decisions and apply modern web frameworks and libraries on top of an existing highly scalable and flexible backend.
Responsibilities
- Lead, design and implement innovative solutions using Javascript, HTML, CSS and React
- Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop new solutions or enhance existing solution
- Build collaborative partnerships with architects, technical leads and key individuals within other functional groups
- Focus on designing and implementing systems for scalability, testability and maintainability.
- Build and foster a high-performance engineering culture, mentor team members and provide team with the tools and motivation to make things happen
- As the liaison between the business area and support team, ensures the understanding of business problems in order to reach the ultimate technical solution that fixes business issues
- Follow emerging Web front-end technologies with the maturity to know how and when to adopt them into an enterprise product that will be put through its paces by our engaged and passionate clients
- Have a strong desire to encourage a positive team culture by leading technical designs
- Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to coding standards
- Write unit tests and promote a variety of good engineering best practices

We're excited about you if you have:
- 6+ years of experience in web technology with a successful history of launching projects
- Experience in designing solutions that utilize software and client-side design patterns and best practices
- Experience with various client-side technologies like JavaScript, ReactJs, NodeJs, ES6, HTML/HTML5, CSS (Sass/Less), XHR, REST APIs
- Experience with JavaScript prominent libraries and frameworks (React, Redux, Angular, Underscore, etc), tools (Webpack, Grunt, npm, etc), cross-browser compatibility, unit testing (Jest, Jasmine, Enzyme, etc), and performance optimization
- Strong understanding of React and Redux is preferred
- Experience with Agile or Scrum processes
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Domain knowledge in e-commerce applications is desired
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and / or equivalent experience
The annual base salary range for this position is $146,336.00 - $188,390.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
