Lead Engineer, Die Cast – Directs the maintenance and improvement of product quality and productivity. Provides technical assistance to Ryobi Die Casting (RDC) and customers as needed. Addresses any Die Casting product issues in house and at the customer’s request. Establishes and achieves MBO goals for assigned products. Develops plans for achieving MBO goals as well as to analyze current condition. Attends monthly meetings to discuss MBO results and progress. Writes End-Of-Run Die Maintenance Request for the responsible products. Develops trust and reliable partnerships with customers as needed. Conducts die refurbishment and ordering schedule. Involved in creation of PFMEA, control plan, and process flow. Guides and directs Process Techs, as needed. Assists in the process of quality training of new RDC personnel. Able to assist in writing of 8-D reports, in visiting customer plants, and in the developing of quality training methods and practices, all as needed. Integrates complex information from a variety of sources, detects trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements - Master’s or foreign degree equivalent in engineering and two years of experience in the job offered or engineering experience in the Die Cast industry. Employer also accepts Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in engineering and four years of experience in the job offered or engineering experience in the Die Cast industry. Special skills - Experience in Die Cast and CAE analysis, budget management, process development, expense reporting, new product launches, Toyota Production System (TPS) and must have Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate. Occasional domestic and international travel required.
