The Lead Technologist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, and with support of the Operations Manager and Director of the Non-invasive Testing Departments (NITD), involved in the competency program for all Technologists in the department, reviewing, revising, and writing Policy and Procedures, and provide feedback for staff performance evaluations. This position does not complete payroll or performance management tasks.
1. Ability to perform all the duties of a Registered EEG Technologist/Neurophysiology Technologist.
2. Monitors staff adherence to Policy & Procedure and therapeutic goals.
3. Ensures appropriate staffing during all shifts, including weekends and holidays; arranges coverage once staff time off is approved by manager/director.
4. Ensures appropriate supply inventory and works with Materials Management on appropriate supply chain issues, exploring for the most cost-effective quality supplies.
5. Develops clinical improvement plans for staff members as needed, with support of the Director of NITD.
6. Assists in performing yearly performance appraisals with support of the Director of the NITD.
7. Triages complaints from staff, physicians, patients regarding departmental practice and service excellence. Involves the Operations Manager/Director of NITD as necessary.
8. Develops yearly departmental competency program; assures all staff meet competency measures and/or creates a performance plan to remediate staff performance, with support of the Operations Manager/Director of NITD and the approval of the Medical Director of the EEG Lab.
9. Ensures staff competency (CPR, credentials, license, etc.)
10. Review and revise policy and procedures as needed, with support of the Operations Manager/Director of NITD, and the approval of the Medical Director of the EEG Lab.
11. Plays an active role in orienting and mentoring new staff.
12. Plays an active role in clinical rotation of EEG Technologist/Neurophysiology Technologist students, with support of the Operations Manager/Director of NITD, and the Medical Director of the EEG Lab.
13. Ensures all recording equipment/technology is in good working order & assures staff are trained in upgrades, new technology, & basic trouble shooting. Performs troubleshooting with support and collaboration of the hardware/software vendors/tech support and other available resources.
14. Works in partnership with the Operations Manager/Director to maintain all equipment; provides input on appropriate replacement schedules for equipment and collaborates with Director on the Capital Equipment process. Maintains appropriate relationships with all vendors.
15. Assists in the development of a budget and helps to control expenses.
16. Performs other duties assigned by the director of the department.

- 1-3 years clinical experience is required; 5 years is preferred.
- Required: Registered EEG Technologist/Neurophysiology Technologist
- Required: Current BLS certification
- Required: Certification or Associates Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in medical field
