Role Definition: Field Installation & Service Technician. The position leads a small team of installation and Service Technicians. Equipment servicing and configuration including applicable software, hardware, and data telecommunications network equipment. Install and terminate DC low voltage power and signal wiring along with conduit.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Field service within Mass Transit industry. Mid-level+ considered. Please provide your cover letter as well as resume.
Education: Technical Degree, Industry Certifications a plus.
The Qualified Candidate will process:
- Technical experience or engineering within the mass transit
- Work to schedules and follow directions, work in harmony with co-workers,
- Must be able to comprehend technical documentation, descriptions, and
- Ability to evaluate their work to ensure a quality product is produced and
- Competent with hand power tools including certified calibrated tools, multimeters, and the ability to learn special processes.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks, adapt to change easily and be creative problem
- Read, write, and comprehend to fill out required documentation Reports and follow instructions whether written or verbal.
- The ability to take disassemble and install components within different types of Work in and around electrical lockers, on top of and around vehicles as high as 16'.
- Ability to work off a ladder up to 25'.
- Ability to terminate wires and running cabling and
- Supports Field Service Manager and Program Management Office
- Maintain compliance to all PPE and safety regulations per OSHA, FRA, and RLC
Responsibilities:
- Lead site teams of Field Service Technicians and installers.
- Test and commission systems and components, fulfill installation and check out sheet requirements.
- Takes photos and documents hardware used to install equipment.
- Hands on completing all installation work including disassembling
- Mentors and motivates team to strive to exceed standards and schedule.
- Provides daily internal and external reports.
- Perform testing and integration activities as part of a
- Attend or may run site
- Provide site-specific input to the project
- Conduct Site Surveys
- Validate network
- Complete installation, start-up commissioning duties,
- Annual Safety training and
- Must be comfortable around AC and DC high voltages at
- Provides guidance and assistance for team travel and expense reporting.
- Owns taskings as execution lead, coordinates with customer and/or industry partners.
- Conducts team briefings and/or daily standups.
- Ensures each team member has the appropriate tools and PPE.
- Participates in or executes after action reviews.
- Ensures team produces quality work.
- Assess process and enhance efficiency.
- Documents issues if target is not being met.
- Ensure the team is present for the workday and works the full day.
- Team may be program based and work in multiple sites on a regular basis.
- Preference given to an individual with proven experiences in:
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, construction drawings and
- Field installs inclusive of testing CCTV, Access controls, intrusion detection systems and
- Axis Camera and/or competitive IP camera
- Extreme Networks, as well as other wired and wireless network management technologies
