SALARY: $24.50/hr

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Lead Cook runs day to day kitchen operations by controlling quality of food, labor, inventory of product and flow of kitchen. They prepare food items according to the recipes. They delegate tasks/jobs to cooks and have a firm understanding of menus/recipes to provide direction and quality control over dishes being prepped in the kitchen. They maintain a clean and sanitary work area. This position works under the direction of the Executive Chef.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
• Know and comply consistently with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service for our guests.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff and management to maintain effective product flow.
• Supervises line cooks, tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure recipes are followed and quality standards are met.
• Assist with product ordering and be able to work with all purveyors when necessary.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately and quickly.
• Assist the Executive Chef with staff trainings.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior restaurant kitchen experience - 3+ years minimum, depending on quality of experience.
• Prior restaurant leadership experience (preferred).
