We are looking for a responsible and reliable Lead Cook to join our growing team. The schedule is morning to mid afternoon. This is a perfect second job for someone who works in the evenings. This position starts as part-time but has the potential to become full-time.
Responsibilities:
- Prep various raw and cooked ingredients
- Prepare and plate food based on recipes and procedures
- Uphold food quality standards
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols
- - Assist in the supervision and training of kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Help with cleaning, opening, and closing
- Other responsibilities as necessary
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experiences as a Lead Cook
- Familiar with food sanitation principles and practices
- Able to follow procedures and meet standards
- Punctual and dependable
- Clean and organized
- Can quickly perform various tasks
- Team player with good communication skills
- Able to learn quickly and follow instructions
- Experience with plant-based food is a plus but not required
- Previous food delivery experience is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to comfortably work on counters and sinks from 32 – 42 inches.
- Able to move through aisles and spaces as small as 12 inches.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Able to rotate, twist, bend, squat, lift, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, or crawl when needed.
- Able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
- Able to work with hot, cold, noisy, and hazardous equipment
- Able to work with all food ingredients.
- Able to work with chemicals routinely used in a commercial kitchen, such sanitizer, degreaser, detergent, and bleach.
Eligibility:
- You are a U.S. citizen or are authorized to work legally in U.S.
- You have a current San Diego County food handler card.
- Food Safety Manager certificate preferred but not required.
Work schedule: morning to mid afternoon, 25-30 hours per week, with the potential for a full-time position
Compensation and Benefits:
- $23/hour
