Job Overview
Under general supervision, performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to obtain and record interpretable diagnostic information for the medical staff. Works as a team lead for the other sonographers within the department. Assures responsibilities and duties are carried out adequately by all personnel. Performs administrative duties necessary for the continuing clinical and business supports to patients. Works closely with other medical staff members.
Hours : Full-Time / 40 hours a week
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree in Radiologic Science.
2. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
3. Nuchal Translucency certification.
4. Five (5) years of clinical experience in medical ultrasonography
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Science.
2. OB/GYN registry eligible
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Performs Level II obstetrical ultrasound exams in a timely manner, including multiple gestations.
2. Provides ultrasound guidance for invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, Chorionic Villis Sampling (CVS), Percutaneous Umbilical Blood Sampling (PUBS), Fetal Transfusions, Fetal Shunt placement.
3. Perform First Trimester Nuchal Translucency scans.
4. Coordinates staff schedule, orders supplies, schedules maintenance for ultrasound equipment, keeps track of staff CME's, licenses, work assignments, and reviews.
5. Directs and supervises related patient flow and clerical activity.
6. Maintains patient schedule and reviews upcoming appointment intakes and flexes sonograpers schedules to optimize clinic flow maximizing the daily schedule. Schedules and receives patients for exams.
7. Works in collaboration with clinical leadership to manage budgeted volume and expenses.
8. Obtains all clinical information available through charts, films, lab tests, etc. prior to exams. Informs clinics, physicians and floors of interpretation for exams and provides results on request.
9. Teaches residents, students, medical staff and visitors the science, capabilities, and proper use of ultrasound as a diagnostic tool.
10. Checks and maintains supplies as necessary and orders all supplies for PDC related to Ultra Sound
11. Maintains sterilization of equipment using appropriate cleaning procedures involved with specialized equipment.
12. Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working groups achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment.
13. Assists with the marketing/patient satisfaction and growth of the department
