Legal Intern (Paid Internship)

As a Cheesecake Law Clerk Intern you will play an integral part in supporting our Legal department by assisting with ongoing projects and responsibilities that relate to your future career. You’ll have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of how a Legal department functions by interacting with the entire team as well as cross functionally with other departments.
Reporting to the VP Legal Services, you will work with a Legal Department team of 15, located in Calabasas Hills, CA, supporting the Legal function for a global $3.3 billion publicly traded company with over 300 full service restaurants and more than 47,500 staff members.

Responsibilities
Here’s more of what you will get to do:
- Conduct basic legal research.
- Summarize legal issues and prepare legal memorandum.
- Assist with preparation of reports.
- Review legal documents and files.
- Assist with litigation discovery and investigations.
- Work with internal clients including Risk Services and Staff Relations on legal issues.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution.
- Completed a minimum 2 years in post-secondary education.
- Majoring in Business, Legal Studies, Political Science, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Available to work from the Support Center at least 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs)
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
