Law Clerk - Intern

The Law Student Internship Program affords law students an opportunity to experience first-hand what an in-house legal practice is like. Tel-Uni's Law Student Internship Program is open to current law students for full-time summer positions. Interns are given the opportunity to work on assignments in a wide variety of areas and transactions within the Law, Policy and Integrity department.
Role Value Proposition:
TelevisaUnivision is seeking a current law student to participate in its Law Clerk Program. The Law Clerk will work with the legal team based out of TelevisaUnivision's Miami or NYC Offices. We anticipate that the Law Clerk Program will be hybrid or in person for 2022, although that may change depending on location and circumstances. The program will run for ten weeks, starting in late May /early June 2022, and run through late August / early September. The Law Clerk is expected to work approximately 40 hours per week and will be compensated at a rate of $25 per hour.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
The Law Clerk will support attorneys that practice in the areas of M&A, Corporate Affairs, Employment Labor Relations, Legal Operations, Compliance, Content Distribution and Streaming among others and be responsible for:

• Analyzing and researching law sources, preparing legal documents, such as briefs, memoranda, contracts, and other legal documents
• Reviewing consulting services contracts, teaming agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and subcontracts
• Meet with the clients and chiefs to discuss potential problems or further details needed for contract negotiations and/or projects
• Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and business partners to discuss implementation requirements
• Prepare executive level presentations for the General Counsel
• Review and analyze RFPs and contracts
• Work closely with the Deputy General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel on special projects
• Draft contractual memoranda and letters
• Translate business requirements into system requirements for key technology platforms used within the LPI department and perform other duties as needed

YOU HAVE:

• Actively pursuing a law degree at an accredited law school.
• Self-starter, with strong individual and project management skills, able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and professionally under tight deadlines and pressure demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, eDocs, SharePoint, Outlook, Workshare Compare, Westlaw, Lexis. Legal research proficiency.
• Ability to learn new skills and systems quickly
