Aerospace Laser Machine Operator
Pay rate range: $17.00 - $20.00
6:30am - 3:00pm
Summary
Use basic and some advanced processes to set up, adjust, and operate various machine tools to form and/or machine aerospace quality detail hardware. Apply basic Laser Operator processes for sheet metal aircraft components as specified by written instructions, schedules and drawings. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
Essential Functions
• Complete basic tasks while applying standard practices.
• Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings and documents.
• With direct oversight, identify machine alignment problems.
• Use precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
• Detect faulty processes and help provide input for their resolution.
• Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
• Work under limited oversight.
• Must be able to use mathematics relevant to functions.
• Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system.
• Able to work with others to develop new jobs.
• May train others on basic operations.
• Reads and understands manufacturing planning, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary to perform the job function.
• Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knows where to find this information at Exotic, and asks for help when necessary.
• Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
• Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
• Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.
• Has a demonstrated expertise in multiple machine tools which may involve multiple machine processes.
• Work under limited oversight.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Regular and acceptable punctuality and attendance.

• Must be able to use mathematics relevant to Laser Operator functions.
• Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
• Able to do some job development with guidance and oversight.
