Job Summary:
The Landscape Laborer is a vital member of our team, assisting in various landscaping and hardscaping tasks, performing service calls on customers' properties, and engaging directly with clients to meet their needs. This role involves hands-on outdoor work and requires the ability to work independently, managing tasks efficiently while upholding our standards of excellence. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to enhancing the aesthetic and functional quality of outdoor spaces, ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service and direct communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in landscaping tasks such as planting, grading, and constructing outdoor features under the guidance of the Foreman when required.
- Perform service calls on customer properties independently, including tasks like sprinkler system startups, minor landscape upgrades, lawn and garden cleanups, among others.
- Operate basic landscaping machinery and tools safely, with the ability to troubleshoot minor issues independently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work site, adhering to safety protocols even when working alone.
- Load and unload materials and equipment independently, managing time and resources effectively.
- Engage in daily customer interaction, understanding their needs, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction with our services through effective communication.
- Work independently on tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks and lift weights over 50lbs.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- A team player when needed but with a strong capability to work independently.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and maintenance practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for customer interaction and working independently.
- Reliability, punctuality, and self-motivation.
- Ability to follow instructions and also make informed decisions when working independently.
Education and Training:
- No formal education requirements.
- On-the-job training provided, including training on landscape maintenance services, customer service best practices, and independent work management.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- This role involves extensive outdoor work in various weather conditions and requires physical fitness to handle machinery operation and manual labor.
