Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring that all reusable supplies, such as, instruments, equipment, linen, and surgical supplies are properly decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and distributed
- Clean and disinfect the Operating Room or procedureal area between patients thoughout the day
- Reprocess instruments in the Operating Room environment utilizing immediate use steam steriliztion or peracetic acid and maintain the standards of reprocessing at the level utilized in the Central Processing Department
- Act as a resource for the Operating Room staff and all other departments within the hospital
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM required within 18 months of hire
Preferred Job Requirements
- Previous hospital experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
