Job Description:

ANGARAI's Landscape Inspector is responsible for overseeing and inspecting landscaping projects to ensure they meet established design specifications, quality standards, and local regulations. They work closely with contractors, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with project plans and applicable codes. The Landscape Inspector is also responsible for documenting inspections, providing feedback, and facilitating necessary corrective actions.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct Site Inspections: Perform on-site inspections of landscaping projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes. Evaluate the quality of workmanship, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to landscaping, including zoning ordinances, environmental regulations, and building codes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, including photographs, reports, and other relevant documentation. Prepare and submit reports summarizing inspection findings, non-compliance issues, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Construction Teams: Work closely with contractors, engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders to address and resolve any structural issues or code violations. Provide guidance and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with contractors, landscape architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide guidance on compliance issues. Coordinate with relevant agencies and departments to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce quality control measures to ensure that landscaping projects meet established standards and specifications.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address non-compliance issues, deviations from plans, and other concerns in a timely and efficient manner. Provide recommendations for corrective actions and follow up to ensure they are implemented.
  • Environmental Considerations: Ensure that landscaping practices adhere to environmental best practices, including water conservation, erosion control, and the use of sustainable materials.
  • Safety Oversight: Monitor and enforce safety protocols to protect workers, site visitors, and the public during landscaping activities.
  • Training and Development: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to landscaping and share knowledge with the team.

Minimum Qualification and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, environmental science, or related field.
  • Current registration as a professional engineer/architect in the State of Maryland.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in experience in landscape inspection, construction, or related field.
  • Knowledge of local landscaping codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Landscape Industry Certified (LIC), Licensed Landscape Architect (LLA), ISA Certified Arborist (or similar) would be an added advantage.
