Lake Compounce is seeking EMTs to work casual hours servicing the amusement parks in Bristol Connecticut. These positions will work various shifts (day, evening and holidays) and will be scheduled Sunday through Saturday to meet the needs and operating schedules of the park. Under limited supervision, the EMT ensures safe and healthy environment for guests and employees by providing competent health and medical services in a prehospital setting.

Position Overview:
Lake Compounce is seeking EMTs to work casual hours servicing the amusement park in Bristol Connecticut. These positions will work various shifts (day, evening and holidays) and will be scheduled Sunday through Saturday to meet the needs and operating schedules of the park. Under limited supervision, the EMT ensures safe and healthy environment for guests and employees by providing competent health and medical services in a prehospital setting.
Responsibilities:

• Attends continuing education and refresher training programs as required by employers, medical direction, licensing or certifying agencies
• Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
• Ensures that the first aid room and equipment is safe, clean, washed and kept in a neat orderly condition.
• Maintains first aid rooms in efficient operating condition
• Reports verbally and in writing their observation and emergency medical care of the patient at the emergency scene for purposes of records and diagnostics. Upon request, provides assistance to the transporting ambulance.
• Identifies assessment findings, which may require communications with medical direction for advice and for notification that special professional services and assistance be immediately available upon arrival at the medical facility.
• Assist in moving patients.
• Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured (within scope of practice).
• Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals utilizing customer service skills.
• Encourages a safe, pleasant work environment for Team Members.
• Maintains appropriate documentation of patient care, incident reports and other necessary reports.
• Ensures quality health and medical care for guests and employees at assigned locations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
• Document patient information, condition, and treatment
• Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
• Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and set priorities
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
• Previous field, ambulance and/or hospital experience require

Working Conditions:

• Requires standing for long periods and the ability to walk long distances within the park
• Exposure to the variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat and cold temperatures
• Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Occasional bending, squatting and reaching above shoulders

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Valid State of CT Driver's License
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): State of Connecticut (required), NREMT (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
