This is a clinical laboratory looking for a responsible individual to prepare and run patient specimens in a high-complexity clinical laboratory.
Primary responsibilities include day-to-day operation and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and sample preparation of patient specimens. Positivity, team-work, and effective communication with supervisors on a daily basis is expected and required.
Responsibilities.
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, including the tracking and maintenance of patient identifiers throughout the testing process.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on immunoassay analyzer.
- Adhere to laboratory quality control policies including performing and documenting all QC activities and performing instrument and procedural calibrations on both instruments.
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen processing on immunoassay analyzer.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and correct the problem or notify the appropriate supervisor.
- Document thoroughly all laboratory activities including corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
Educational and experience requirements.
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science (e.g. Chemistry, MLT, MT)
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry, preferred
- Previous laboratory work-experience, preferred
