Form of workAs a construction testing LaboratoryTechnician, you will perform light to moderate labor-intensive field and lab duties and testing under the direction of other technicians or staff professionals with minimal analysis of data required. This full-time position will work out of the Cranston, RIlocation with occasional local travel within RI and MA. Training is available!
- Perform field and occasional lab testing of soils, concrete and asphalt to determine compliance with project specifications.
- All testing reports and observations must be tabulated and submitted daily in an electric report
- Reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications, and entering data related to the various job tasks.
- You will be required to keep equipment clean and in good working order.
- Interact with construction personnel, engineers and state and federal representatives while presenting yourself as a professional representative of the company.
- Responsible for transporting material samples to laboratory for further testing and analysis
- Driving and maintaining the appearance and operation of company vehicles to and from job sites.
- All work with be conducted in accordance with OSHA regulations and TEI Safety standards
- This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as on a variety of outdoor job sites
- Position will entail occasional exposure to outside work, dusty environments as well as sedentary work.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and clean record, driving company vehicle(s) is/are required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Google docs
- Ability to obtain certifications from OSHA, NICET, NETTCP, ICC and ACI within first year of employment is required
