Our UPMC Chautauqua team is excited for your consideration to join our team of Life Changers as an Laboratory Admin Assistant Associate! Our full-time role will serve variable first shift (6:00am-5:30pm) with rotating weekends.
In this role, there will be the opportunity to –
- Provide general administrative support to a department or group of professionals under direct supervision.
- Perform routine clerical functions, including copying, sorting, filing, and typing.
- Set up and maintain varied office files, logs, and records of office activities.
- Order office supplies and maintain office equipment.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls and messages.
- Respond to routine questions.
- Greet, screen, and direct visitors to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain the supervisor’s calendar (schedule meetings, recurring events, and large conference rooms; order food; ensure necessary equipment is available).
- Sort, distribute, prioritize, and compose routine correspondence following established procedures.
- Assist in researching, drafting, and abstracting routine reports.
- Compile and analyze basic information.
- Help the supervisor and department prepare presentations (edit, print, perform basic formatting functions).
- Assist with processing specimens and packaging them according to testing specifications and collecting specimens following established procedures.
Qualifications:
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software.
- Ability to use applicable MS Suite products.
- Knowledge of business processes and procedures.
- Ability to use basic reasoning skills.
Preferred
- Up to one year of administrative experience.
