The company’s products enable the identification of thousands of species of bacteria, yeast, and fungi as well as characterization of human cells and mitochondria. Our second office is in Delaware; Biolog Lab Services, an innovator in microbial identification, currently offers contract laboratory services for microbial identification and enumeration to deliver critical, time-sensitive ID for pharmaceutical, probiotic, food and beverage, and personal care manufacturing operations using sequencing and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Biolog products are available worldwide, either directly from the company or through its extensive network of international distributors.

What is the Job all About?
- Lab Technician
- Newark, DE
- The Lab Technician supports Biolog’s Lab Services division by performing routine lab tasks that are essential to operations, such as sample handling and processing for ID, discards and restocking inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares all laboratory supplies including manufacture of reagents and media, cleaning of tools and equipment, stocking laboratory and warehouse with consumables; documents receipt of goods and notifies Laboratory Management of supply needs and resource status.
- Performs standard microbiology procedures including handling, growth, and purification of cultures.
- Performs microbial identification procedures including receipt of samples, DNA extraction, performs required data entry, and runs associated equipment.
- Follows all safety requirements for laboratory operation and use and disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste.
- Maintains open communication with Laboratory Staff and Management.
- Routine maintenance, cleaning, and recordkeeping of laboratory equipment and facility.
- Performs daily housekeeping, weekly and monthly cleaning.
- Restock lab supplies as needed.
- Adherence to regulatory and accreditor requirements.
- Follows all Quality System Procedures to process samples.
- Compliance to applicable cGMP, ISO 17025, USDA permit requirements and any other
applicable regulatory requirements. - Communicates with Customers regarding sample receiving and escalates Customer
inquiries outside of this scope to management needed. - Represents company policies and ethics in a professional manner to customers as outlined
in the Employee Handbook. - Other responsibilities as assigned. Effective communication skills.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Life Science or related with 1—2 years of professional lab experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or related with 0—2 years of professional lab experience.
- Knowledge of MS Office products.
- Good time management. Ability to multi-task.
