Summary
Operates and supports a water treatment system at the different location sites meeting local, state and federal regulations. Performs analysis on wastewater for parameters required on the DPDES permit and for operational monitoring of the wastewater systems. Schedule varies due to business needs but is generally 6:30a-3:30p
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates equipment to fulfill requirements of water and/or waste water operations.
- Performs all work within safety guidelines established by local, state and federal agencies as well as company policies.
- Collects water and/or waste water samples in accordance with quality assurance programs and applicable environmental regulations.
- Test samples and adjust equipment and chemical flow rate as required to ensure water quality is in compliance.
- Diagnoses equipment failures.
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance on equipment as well as routine repairs as necessary.
- Compiles and maintains relative records as required.
- Perform technical laboratory analysis and procedures as required by the DPDES permit, including all required proficiency testing and quality control as required by the laboratories DELAP Certification and the labs Quality Manual.
- Maintain QC standards to comply with all state DELAP certification standards.
- Calculate analytical data and work with computer to maintain monthly reports.
- Maintain necessary laboratory supplies.
- Maintain Chemical Inventory for monthly reports.
- Maintain Calibration schedules for all laboratory equipment.
- Maintain Lab equipment and analytical supplies for testing.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED, with strong reading, writing, math and analytical skills required. Computers skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience Requirements
0 -2 years experience. Strong reading, writing and math skills. Must have basic knowledge of wastewater operations.
Experience Preferred
One-year preferred experience. A laboratory or science background is recommended for this position but not required
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.May need to access files, supplies and equipment.When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.May need to climb ladders. May require standing for several hours at a time.
