Job Description
Responsibilities: As a Laboratory Technician, you will work within a dynamic team, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures. Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning work areas, including floors, walls, and tables.
- Preparation, cleaning, and sterilization of glassware and equipment.
- Assisting with equipment setup and operation.
- Conducting aseptic procedures, including product formulation, fill equipment setup and operations, and environmental monitoring.
- Maintaining concurrent record-keeping, including charts, log books, and documentation.
- Participating in formulation, filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and visual inspection of vaccines.
- Training new team members.
- Reporting unusual occurrences and non-routine events during tasks.
- Accountability for hazardous waste management, when appropriately trained.
- Assisting in non-aseptic procedures, such as handling poultry during tissue harvesting or waste disposal.
- Reviewing and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Reviewing production records and entering technical data into required systems.
- Attending training classes, workshops, meetings, etc., to enhance job skills and product-related procedures.
- Assisting in monitoring and requisitioning laboratory supplies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma/GED.
- Experience and Skills:
- Able to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned work within own area.
- Recognizes problems and uses existing procedures to assess solutions.
- Works on tasks to meet time frames set by others.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend information and effectively convey information to colleagues at various levels.
- Flexible work schedule, including overtime, holidays, and weekends. Shift will be 5x8hr shifts, 2 PM-10:30 PM per week.
- Aseptic clean room behaviors experience preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions.
- Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Laboratory experience.
- Biology or chemistry education background.
- Mechanical aptitude.
