The Opportunity
- Lab Technician at the Tacoma Refinery at Par Pacific, a growing energy company
- Reporting to the Lab Supervisor, you will analyze various petroleum-based products to ensure quality and regulatory standards are met.
Key activities include:
- Conduct in-process and finished tank testing of various petroleum-based products
- Use equipment use such as: Automated Distillation Apparatus, Viscometer, Flash Point, Cloud/Pour Point, Densometer, VP Analyzer, pH, and Ammonia in the performance of Lab Technician duties
- Train in Lab Specific Programs in accordance with a set qualification progression path
- Participate in all safety training and attend all monthly lab safety meetings.
- Actively engage with other Lab Technicians in a team environment
- Support 24/7 refinery operations by working assigned shift (including opportunity for holiday pay).
- Lab Technicians will normally work an 8 or 10-hour shift of rotating day and swing shifts on a 4-week basis.
Qualifications
To meet the basic qualifications for employment, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To comply with the regulations at this work location, successful applicants must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). Qualifications for this role:
- Minimum of two (2) years Vocational Technical or College training (science background preferred)
- Be able to lift 35lbs
- Be computer proficient - particularly with MS Office Suite of products (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
- Be able to work shift work and overtime
- Successfully complete Safety Orientation Training
- Successfully complete and maintain qualifications in Gas Streams Subdivision
- Successfully complete and maintain qualifications in Gas Bench Subdivision
- Successfully complete and maintain qualifications in Jet Subdivision

Hiring Range:
The hiring range for this position is $27.49-$41.23 per hour, plus non-discretionary bonus. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
