Description:
Schedules, supervises, and coordinates the activities of R&D lab personnel, ensuring that work meets established quality standards, regulations and is delivered on time.
- Ensures staff health and safety, environment, productivity, and quality priorities are addressed and optimized.
- Maintain adequate reagents, inventory and supplies and ensure proper utilization of consumables with minimum waste.
- Coordinate equipment acquisition and/or maintenance requirements.
- Must be well versed in the OSHA Laboratory standards, Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Research Laboratories from the CDC, and the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Synthetic and Recombinant Nucleic AcidMolecules.
- Proficiency with operation and routine maintenance of all molecular and lipid nanoparticle equipment and instrumentation.
- Ability to assist with development and implementation of new methods and applications working in close cooperation with scientists and research associates.
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors.
- Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
- Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow for goods and services affecting production
- Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors.
- Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
- Communicating with management regularly regarding efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
- Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
- Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Management Practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- BS in biological science and 3+ years laboratory experience in pharma or equivalent combination of related technical education and experience
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills are required.
- Good understanding of cell culture and molecular genetics techniques
- Required computer skills include Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, ELN Notebook and Prendio or other procurement software.
