Job Summary:
- The Lab Assistant I and II will accession patient sample information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), accurately according to received requisitions.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- Review all information is accurate and meets company and regulatory standards.
- Accepts deliveries from couriers.
- Accession patient sample information and physician test orders according to requisitions, accurately.
- Verify required information, per HIPPA/CAP/CLIA, is obtained on all orders.
- Identify missing information and execute proper route when missing information is identified.
- Scan patient requisitions for medical records.
- Maintain an error rate below .10% with a goal of zero errors per month.
Qualifications:
Education –
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Competencies/Skills –
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentially of all medical, financial, and legal information.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience –
- 6 months experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Experience working with MS Office Suite, required.
- 2 years HealthTrackRx experience needed for advancement to Lab Assistant II
