Form of workSummary: The Knowledge Manager's primary responsibility is to develop, evolve and encourage correct and widespread usage of the GECOS program knowledge base using tools such as Service Now, BMC Remedy, SharePoint, and Office 365. Create and develop guidelines for what information is captured, by whom, how it integrates throughout the program, and how to keep it from growing stale. An ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic fast-paced environment and has a background in leading content and information architecture strategy across an organization.
As a Knowledge Manager, you will define the content/knowledge management strategy and lead the content architecture and strategy. The role will focus on developing, auditing, and maintaining high quality content for employees and customers. An ideal candidate will work closely with key stakeholders across the program to maintain consistency at an enterprise scale and align the content strategy with program and customer vision.
They will play a significant role in the development of a successful and effective knowledge base and will have a direct impact on employees’ day to day. How you'll make an impact:Define the knowledge management strategy for our knowledge base and maintain high quality, up-to-date, and searchable content for audiences of varying skill levelWork effectively across the organization with stakeholders, change management, service and process owners, and subject matter experts to develop and support knowledge management artifacts for new and existing products and services.Develop, capture and leverage analytics to evaluate business impact, track the usage and define efficiency of the knowledge base content.Lead, coach and assist GECOS team members in the development and authoring of knowledge management artifacts from each team and\or employee. Establish writing guidelines based on knowledge base best practices and develop the team to ensure they are achieving or surpassing them.
What you'll need to be successful:BS and 1 or a minimum of 6 years of relevant IT experience including a minimum of 5 years performing Knowledge ManagementExperience with ITSM Knowledge Management modules (BMC Remedy or Service Now)Demonstrated experience w/ MS 365 and SharePointExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAn active Secret security clearance. Desired Certifications and Experience: Experience managing services against SLAs on a DoD TO/contract#GECOS
