Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee the culinary operations of our bustling breakfast restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for breakfast cuisine, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing kitchen staff and operations efficiently. As the Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and consistency while maintaining a positive and productive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Develop and maintain standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards to ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and receiving of food and kitchen supplies to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.
- Monitor food costs, labor costs, and other operational expenses to optimize profitability and budget adherence.
- Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with local health regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with the front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration between the kitchen and dining areas.
- Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring all appliances and tools are in proper working condition.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and cooking techniques to innovate and enhance the restaurant's menu offerings.
- Handle any kitchen-related issues or emergencies effectively and professionally.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication among kitchen staff.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a kitchen management or supervisory role, preferably in a breakfast or brunch restaurant environment.
- In-depth knowledge of breakfast cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor kitchen staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Proficiency in kitchen operations, including inventory management, cost control, and food safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required in the restaurant industry.
- Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institute is a plus.
