KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER – PFS Blends
Reports to: VP – Business Development & Growth
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The Key Account Manager for PFS Blends is responsible for all new business development, handling sales calls whether lead driven or by cold calling, warehouse management and relationships within a national territory. This person is ultimately responsible for sustaining our existing market and developing new business in order to grow the manufacturing of blended products. This position requires extensive travel. The primary focus is on achieving company growth and profitability goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new private label accounts for blending operations
- Focus in manufacturers, wholesale and large food chains
- Place cold calls to potential customers
- Follow up on all leads
- Develop and close deals
- Utilize existing relationships to gain new referrals and leads
- Oversee details of new accounts from sales cycle through ongoing support of those accounts
- Ensure the closing of quality and profitable accounts
- Develop, present, and maintain quarterly and annual business plan to meet product sales growth objectives in new accounts
- Support Business Development team on breading opportunities
- Develop blending opportunities outside current portfolio
- Manage and retain existing private label accounts
- Establish and maintain productive, professional relationships with key personnel in all accounts
- Develop and maintain relationship with manufactures, wholesale and grocery chains
- Develop, present, and maintain quarterly and annual business plan to meet product sales growth objectives in existing accounts
- Drive additional product sales to existing customer based on needs
- Work with appropriate internal staff to ensure all operating needs of customers are met
- Provide Leadership Advisory
- Regular review of quarterly/annual business plans with VP – Business Development & Growth
- Provide weekly activity recap to VP – Business Development & Growth
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM at all times
- Maintain an open, constant and positive relationship with manufacturing site
- Work closely with R&D on new and existing products to ensure customer needs are met
- Work closely with Plant Manager to ensure production efficiencies are achieved
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 + years of sales experience: preferred blended product knowledge
- Develop Private Label business from ground up
- Proven sales closer with manufactures, wholesale and large grocery chains
- Ability to WIN DEALS
- Self-starter with ability to work independently 95% of time, with no supervision
- Strong work ethic and ability to travel overnight EXTENSIVELY – Approximately 80%
- Sales oriented always focused on customer needs first!
- Ability to effectively communicate with all types of people from owners to hourly employees for business results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technological skill sets to include use of word, excel, Powerpoint, CRM, and other software as required
- Organization of business materials; internal, customer and project files
- A positive attitude!
- Persistent in nature, follow up is a must!

- Ability to manage time and schedule effectively
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Significant overnight travel overnight as required, 8-14 nights per month estimated
- Approximately 50% of the work is performed in an office setting
- Air travel is required to cover the assigned territory

- Ability to drive 3K-5K miles per month
