Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Have knowledge of Kennywood/Sandcastle Park rules and policies, have the ability to communicate them clearly to others and be able enforce them while maintaining a positive, courteous attitude with guests and/or employees.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests and employees by recognizing and reporting potential hazards on Park property.
- Be able to assign, direct and assist Officers/Aides with their duties, monitor them during their shifts to verify that they are performing their assignments properly within their designated areas and that make sure all incident reports are completed.
- Assess qualifications and abilities of Security Officers/Aides and distribute assignments and provided training accordingly.
- Coordinate with other Departments within the Park to make ensure Security Officers/Aides are properly deployed and tasks requested of the Security Department are completed.
- Be responsible for distribution and collection of Department equipment and inform the Security Manager or his designee of any equipment that is damaged or malfunctioning.
- Be knowledgeable of the Department's Policies and Procedures as determined by the Security Manager, disseminate any new Policies or Procedures to staff, enforce them accordingly and report any violations to the Security Manager.
- Act as a liaison between the Park and local Police Departments and assist them in the performance of their duties on Park property.
- Assist with scheduling, be able to reassign personnel as dictated by scheduling/manpower problems and notify the Security Manager and on site OIC of any issues as a result of call offs.
- Conduct daily inspection of Officers, their uniforms and equipment. Check to make sure that uniforms are neat, clean and presentable and all Officers only have the equipment they are certified to carry.
- Must be able to be work an average of 25-30 scheduled hours/week.
Working Conditions:
- Requires standing for long periods, ability to walk long distances within the park, and exposure to the variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat. Must also be able to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Occasional bending, squatting and reaching above shoulders
