At this moment, we are seeking team members who can be available for approximately 24-30 hours per week of work. The shifts for this position are late afternoon to evening. Please note that we are not just seeking people needing temporary employment. Our goal is to develop the skills and leadership potential of our staff so they can be long-term members of our team.

About our schedule... we operate 24-7-365 and are busy every day of the week, especially holidays, so you must be willing to work holidays as well as weekends. Flexibility with schedule is valued. Applicants must be able to show evidence of being available, punctual, dependable, and energetic for their required shifts.

Description of Position and Responsibilities:

Working under the direction of the Manager, the individual is responsible for: (1) maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized environment (2) assisting with supreme care of our canine guests, and (3) positively interacting with fellow team members, clients, and dogs at all times.

The position requires someone with a positive attitude, who is reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with cleaning. You must have a strong work ethic, great communication skills, and be a positive team player. Your previous work and volunteer experience should demonstrate your success in being entrusted with important functions of an organization. This position requires a very high level of mental alertness as well as physical agility and strength. We place great emphasis on safety, along with fun.

Working as a Kennel Cleaning Technician:

Our Kennel Cleaning Crew is a very important part of the organization. Kennel Cleaning Technicians are responsible for the cleanliness of our facility, which directly effects the health and safety of the dogs in our care during training. They work alongside a large variety of dogs everyday in a fast-paced environment, making sure the dogs that stay with us are safe and happy!

We are currently looking for part-time Kennel Cleaning Technicians who are able to work efficiently with a team, are excited about contributing to our mission and are looking for a dynamic environment with a variety of tasks.

Duties:

Cleaning and sanitizing all areas of our facility and grounds according to specifications

Doing laundry

Washing dishes

Processing trash, recycling, and waste

Power-cleaning and maintaining indoor and outdoor equipment and areas

Maintaining cleanliness of indoor and outdoor public areas

Sweeping, mopping, dusting, and creating lots of sparkle

Assisting with care of our canine guests, to include feeding, pottying, monitoring and caring for them.

Requirements:

• First and foremost, you must love dogs and be comfortable around dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• This job requires being on your feet, moving quickly and being highly alert.
• Able to lift 60 pounds.
• Excellent observation skills to observe cleaning and dog care needs and respond proactively to them.
• Demonstrated ability to work well as team member, handle multi-tasking with ease, and interact cheerfully and professionally with team members and clients.
• Ability to work well independently and take initiative where appropriate for maintaining a clean, sanitized environment.
• Able to take and respond to feedback.
• Adherence to all safety guidelines.
• Great communication skills.
• You must be at least 18 years old with a prior work, volunteer, and/or education history that demonstrates initiative, maturity, and a positive team spirit.
• A valid California driver's license and reliable automobile transportation of your own to/from work is a requirement of the job.

Preferred:

Previous successful experience working in cleaning

Previous successful experience working in an environment with animals

Rate of Pay:

Compensation starts at $16.00/hour with increases based on performance. Pay raises are based on reliability and ability to complete tasks efficiently. So bring a good attitude and work ethic, and we are happy to increase pay correspondingly!

Approximately 24-30 hours per week with opportunity for full-time as experience and growth within our organization.
