The team support and develop a low latency trading system across all asset classes. We are involved in pricing and hedging for client e-commerce trading. The system currently trades multiple billions of dollars a day.
Main Function
Lead all KDB development in the US for the department as driven by business requirements and prioritization.
The ideal candidate will fit into the team and the current code base, make it their own, and use this as a base to be able to design and develop new components. This will include ongoing re-implementations of current q code, extensions thereof and ongoing support of those systems.
Take ownership and contribute to the reporting infrastructure built around KDB, written in Flex, Java and
Build out complex reports in Q that will ultimately be distributed to the business.
Main Duties
Architect solutions to problems both tactical and strategic as the business requires it.
Work closely with the business users to understand requirements and deliver high quality Q code
Provide estimates for tasks, including design, development and testing
Extend and support the low-latency database system to meet the business requirements
Supporting the implementation of new code releases
Basic Requirements:
5+ Years of experience of full-lifecycle development of at least 1 large commercial system.
2+ years experience in KDB+ including experience of writing Q code.
2+ years working in financial institution
Preferred Qualifications:
KDB+: Tick administration and support.
Investment banking knowledge.
Experience of low latency systems.
Excellent communication skils
A team player who takes initiative and can influence the development of the system.
Excellent academic record with a numerate degree - e.g. computer science, mathematics, phyics, engineering, etc.
