The Junior Mechanical Engineer will be participating in ensuring the safe and efficient operations of all mechanical, electrical, and processing equipment within the facility. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Support Material Operations & Facilities Manager and Manufacturing Engineer with department initiatives and goals
- Evaluate opportunities for improvement and new Processes for future implementation
- Write, format, edit, and update instructions and procedures to be used by manufacturing.
- Work closely with other departments and team members to support their material and facility needs
- Assist in project planning and execution
- Identify and address issues or challenges related to materials and facilities promptly, seeking solutions and making recommendations for improvements
- Build new and update existing Excel-based tools
- Assist the Material Operations & Facilities team in daily activities and routine operations
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient materials procurement, storage, and utilization
- Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to increase efficiency
- Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices and safety protocols
Qualifications:
Education:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Experience:
- 1-2 years of Mechanical Engineering or related experience
- Familiarity with manufacturing and production operations processes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Dependable and highly motivated

- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Desire to learn new skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and navigate in confined spaces.
