Job Description
This is an entry level role for individuals new to the electronic physical security industry interested in receiving on the job training or individuals with limited experience looking to further develop their skills as a technician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of a project manager or lead technician, understand and install electronic physical security projects referencing the project’s scope of work, drawings/designs, installation standards, and other project supporting documentation.
- Daily and direct communication of project status to Project Managers, Lead Technicians, or Installation Coordinators.
- Installation of conduit, cabling, and support systems needed to interconnect systems and devices. Terminate wiring connections.
- Installation of head end racking, shelving, enclosures, etc.
- Installation of physical access control systems and access control panels.
- Installation of various networked video systems, dress and route cable into closets, control rooms and panels, troubleshoot related systems and products.
- Installation of magnetic locks, electric strikes, and low voltage electrical locking hardware, readers, openers, etc.
- Onsite troubleshooting of equipment as necessary.
- Perform site cleanup tasks.
- Maintain safe and secure work environment by following safe practices.
- Keeps customer’s security information confidential.
- Assist with other tasks as required.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Entry level, general construction or handyman skills are preferable
- Understand basic low voltage electrical systems.
- Post-secondary education in a technology related field with an emphasis on computer/IT skills preferred
- Able to use MS Office tools and experience using a Windows PC
- A valid driver's license
- A clean criminal background and motor vehicle record in good standing.
- Ability to travel as passenger in lead technician company vehicle, where applicable
