Job description

Who were looking for:
We're looking to build the best teams possible with highly motivated and engaged teammates. We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Property Accountant for our main office in Queens, NY.


Essential Duties and responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • All aspects of Accounts Payable including but not limited to, entering invoices, vendor inquiries, verifying payments, and updating vendor accounts. Includes obtaining account activity and statements from online sources.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports on the cash and accrual basis, prepare journal entries.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze property income and expenses and prepare variance analysis in conjunction with the property managers.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Filing and other administrative tasks.
  • Other special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years of accounting experience within a Property Management, Real Estate or related field.
  • Knowledge of accrual basis a must.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to complete a multitude of tasks while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and Word.
  • Experience in Yardi required.
  • Experience with AvidXchange a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

Salary Range:

$45,000-$55,000/yr.
