Greenwood Star is looking for a high performing Junior HR Generalist capable of work in a fast-paced environment amongst a talented, highly motivated team. The HR Generalist performs Human Resources duties in a professional manner, and is responsible for overseeing the functional areas of recruiting, employee relations, payroll, policies and procedures, training and events, and company culture. The qualified HR Generalist is mindful of all applicable Federal and State laws as they relate to the practice of Human Resources.
The HR Generalist at Greenwood Star will perform his/her duties at a high level of competency, as well as pro-actively draft and undertake initiatives for the betterment of the Company. Job Duties:
- Support management by providing HR direction, advice and counsel, and oversees all HR initiatives, systems, and tactics
- Serve as the point of contact for employee relations
- Processes payroll for corporate and on-site staff
- Implements HR strategies by establishing department standards, including talent acquisition and employee on-boarding
- Develop corporate plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation, benefits, and health and safety
- Process the on-boarding and termination of all candidates and employees
- Review employee timecards and other job-related functions
- Deal with grievances and violations, invoking disciplinary action when required
- Communicate compensation, benefits, and other facets of employment with employees and candidates
- Act to support the human factor in the company by devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development etc.
- Lead company's compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Maintain minimal company exposure to lawsuits
- Establish and maintain company records and reports, directing others in the organization to adhere to record-keeping guidelines
- Maintain company organization charts and employee directory
- Review and makes recommendations to management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related field required
- 1+ years of HR experience required
- High level of proficiency in English required
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Pronounced leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of employment legislation, regulations, and best-practices
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, handling sensitive situations appropriately and with documentation
- Ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively, and respond appropriately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to resolve complex problems by leveraging business/HR knowledge and client relationships
- Must be available for occasional, short-term travel to provide on-site support at company locations
- Willingness to work occasional extended or irregular hours depending on business needs
- Requires working under stressful conditions where constructive criticism is expected and encouraged
