Junior Engineer
Summary
This role will be responsible for generating the majority of engineering content, including shop drawings, for various millwork and casework products. They will work closely with the Casegeoods Team including Project Managers, Coordinators to ensure the engineering deliverables match the project scope and are completed in accordance with project timelines. The Junior Engineer will also serve as the primary support engineer for an assigned product line within our Fabrication value stream.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Generate casework engineering data for manufacturing from customer provided architectural or shop drawings using Casegoods specific software
Work independently to interpret drawings, sketches, customer documents, specs, and other forms of media to prepare accurate detailed engineering data
Generate Shop Drawings, Assembly Sheets, and Submittal Sheets as required by project scope
Review take-offs and drawings for accuracy and update as needed using red lines from architects and field-verified measurements
Extract all relevant BOM data from Casegoods project software, compile material and hardware lists, and relay to Engineering Support for system BOM generation
Assist Project Management as needed, which may include onsite visits for Project Management & Sales
Travel to manufacturing facility to assist manufacturing in interpretation of data, troubleshooting & real time data correction during production
Generate simple engineering data in Solidworks for items that fall outside of the scope of the Casegoods software package
Assist as the primary support engineer for troubleshooting & change management for assigned Fabrication products (non-Casework)
Provide assistance to and communicate with off shift operations when business need presents
Occasional travel (up to 30%) will be required, requiring a satisfactory driving record be maintained
Other duties may be assigned at any time
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience, or Associate’s degree in CAD, Architectural Drafting, or related field, and/or equivalent experience
Proficiency in reading & accurately interpreting architectural prints and construction documents
Understanding of materials, hardware, and woodworking construction methods
Basic Solidworks skills are preferred
High attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate throughout project (questions, discrepancies, etc.) to clients & internal team members
