Junior Architectural Designer – Residential Home Construction & Remodeling
Goodwill TalentBridge is recruiting a Junior Architectural Designer to work with our client, a residential home builder and remodeler with a national presence. Our client is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of their customers through innovative design and construction.
This role will complete a variety of design work from new construction to additions and remodeling projects working directly with the Senior Designer. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years’ experience designing residential homes and for residential remodeling projects, must be highly organized, process and deadline driven with motivation to provide quality results. Candidates must be technically adept and be able to design detailed construction blueprints and drawings. Previous experience with Chief Architect software is needed in this role. This role is onsite at our client’s Racine County offices.

- Work closely with the Senior Designer or Designer on all construction project drawings
- Understanding of project scope and intentions
- Assist in as-built drawings at customer location and complete individually
- Develop floor plans that reflect customer’s vision
- Develop all project elevations and renderings
- Develop product specifications, electrical plans, window/door layouts
- Develop any needed working or detail drawings such as cross sections, framing (floors, walls, roofs), cabinets, structural attachments, etc.
- Assemble final plans sets, customer signoffs, and production
- Customer communication as directed by senior design staff
- Meet and exceed project deadlines and customer requirements
- Research county and municipality requirements as well as code requirements
- Order sample materials as needed for specific customer requests
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- GED, high school diploma, or Architectural Degree preferred
- 1-2 years of design experience in residential homes or residential remodeling projects including renderings
- 1-2 years of experience with design software such as Chief Architect-preferred, Softplan, Sketch-up, Revit, or AutoCAD
- Experience with rendering software such as Lumion, Twinmotion, Blender, or V-Ray a plus
- Proficient knowledge with Windows, Microsoft Office, PDF editor, and G Suite

Pay: $52,000.00 per year
