Amentum is seeking a Joint Fires Space Planner to provide research, analysis, and rapid plans support to address new and emerging situations and threats across the Indo-Pacific in support of the U.S. INDO-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Operations Directorate at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.

The Joint Fires Space Planner will support the J32 Joint Fires Division with the integration of space operations into the Joint Fires planning process. The ever-increasing demands associated with a congested and contested space environment requires strategic and operational partners who are properly postured to meet mission critical requirements. This position will support innovative approaches to integrate capabilities as well as close coordination with Service Components, research labs, industry, OSD, and Joint Staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to senior-level strategic planning and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USINDOPACOM senior leader consumption.
- Provide research and analysis of various space related national security policies, military strategies, and capability integration that support USINDOPACOM operations and exercises.
- Identify operational areas of convergence with Space Command and enable coordination across multiple stakeholders.
- Develop processes to integrate space fires into the Joint Fires planning process.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least two years’ experience as a Joint or Service Space Planner.
- At least 10 years of combined experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Experience in writing reports, graphics and information papers.
- Experience analyzing operational data.
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Must have an active Top-Secret clearance and be SCI eligible. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of at least one of the following: Concepts of Orbital Warfare Course; Fundamental Application of Space Targeting; Joint Space Targeting Course.
- Master’s Degree and/or attendance at Service Command and General Staff College.
- 3 years' experience in the Indo-Pacific Area of Operations (AOR).
- Familiarity with INDOPACOM Theater Campaign Plan (TCP), Deliberate and Crisis Action Plans, and Operations Plans (OPLANS).
- Experience coordinating with other Department of Defense (DoD) entities, including the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense and INDOPACOM's Service Components as well as non-DoD organizations.
The salary range for this position is $150K to $170K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
