About the Opportunity

Working to provide creative and technical support to our sales and furniture project teams, the Designer-Space Planner meets with clients and helps prepare floor plans ranging from conceptual drawings to very accurate, detailed computer-generated design and furniture layout specifications; helping with sales presentations, quotations and installation activities of office furniture and related equipment in client facilities.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet with company sales representative and clients to gather project requirements, establish project timeline, and develop project budget
  • Develop creative design concepts and space plans that fulfill client requirements and conform to applicable building codes and ADA requirements
  • Generate furniture plans with intelligent graphics on AutoCAD and CET and/or including 3D’s and elevations as required
  • Generate accurate furniture specifications using 2020 Cap Technologies
  • Develop color schemes with material and finish selections within schedule and budget requirements
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of contract office furniture lines
  • Good working knowledge of systems furniture and space planning.
  • Prepare installation plans as requested
  • Select architectural finishes and prepare finish plans
  • Participate in and prepare furniture inventories as needed
  • All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Cap 2020, and CET
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Photoshop
  • Ability to interpret communicated customer needs and project requirements into competent design solutions
  • Strong oral, presentation, written, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with people, action-oriented, and not intimidated by deadlines, vendors or customers
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience; dealership or furniture knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of CET required; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
  • NCIDQ Certification preferred, but not required
