Required Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of direct design experience in medical facility design/space planning. Experience in government medical facilities highly desired. VA SEPS knowledge and experience highly desirable. Advanced knowledge of current healthcare planning and programming concepts including basic patient safety and mental health guidelines. Experience working with and as part of multi-disciplinary teams. Experience working with cost estimators.
Required Education: Degreed Architect, registration preferred.
Salary: $150,000-$180,000

Key Duties and Major Responsibilities
Provides support to clients and design team during project proposals and statement of work assessment, as well as during full on design efforts. Will serve as subject matter expert to support design teams. Work involves helping client, primarily those in Veterans Affairs facilities, organize space within older facilities to support modern medical technologies and functions. Efforts may include client meetings with minor sketches all the way up to a formal presentation of suggested facility design/layout. Work may also include recommended layouts of new clinics/facilities. Ability to take a concept and formalize using Revit/CAD required. Must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have experience and be comfortable articulating design concepts and helping clients understand and visualize the proposed solutions. Must be comfortable presenting concepts and designs to audiences from small internal conversation up to large groups with varying levels of construction knowledge/expertise. Will also train and mentor staff on hospital planning and design.
